Remembering today our own countries leaders, Boris Johnson, Nicola Sturgeon, Arlene Foster and Mark Drakeford as they guide and direct us. May your blessing of mercy and grace be upon them.
Lord we pray today for Christians in leadership roles in many countries. Help them to demonstrate the servant leadership we see in Jesus. May people see an imitation of Christ in their leadership.
Pray for more ‘open doors’ to reach out to North Korean brothers and sisters in 2021, and for wisdom and protection for Open Doors fieldworkers in their dangerous work. For the North Korean leaders’ hearts, that they will see, feel and recognise what their main priorities should be for the people of North Korea in 2021.
Pray for the protection of secret believers in North Korea – from persecution and Covid-19 – and that God will encourage them and provide for all their needs.
Dear God, bring peace and stability to Myanmar. Intervene in the leadership of the military. Shift their perspective and demands, and prompt them to do right and good by their country by handing back the control they’ve taken. Bring decisive breakthrough, and use recent events to strengthen, rather than disrupt, democratic rule in Myanmar. Amen.
Thank God for the churches working around the world who are adapting and supporting their communities through new lockdowns. In challenging circumstances, they are providing practical, spiritual and emotional help to people in poverty. Pray for wisdom, energy and strength for their leaders. And pray for the work being done to resource and equip these churches.
Praise God that Tearfund are able to reach even more vulnerable families across Yemen thanks to the success of the recent coronavirus appeal. More than 11,422 people have now received lifesaving food parcels and hygiene packages. Lift up our partners in Yemen, who are carrying out this vital work in the midst of conflict and a pandemic. Pray for their safety and for peace…

Let us on this Global recycling day give thanks for our world and remember our role in looking after it. May we all play our part in recycling and caring for our planet. Praying for the summit in Glasgow and giving thanks for the return of USA to the table.
