Be a child today, scuff up the leaves, if you are able. Dance, even in your imagination. Sing: for this is the day the Lord made for us to rest as He did. Remember Jesus took a rest too and so can you. Glory in His grace and kindness to you.
Take time to sit quietly, look out of the window or close your eyes and paint a picture let God’s peace surround you, be beside you & around you. Give thanks and rest in His arms.
Through God came the Word and through the Word came life, which brought light to mankind. This light shines in the darkness and the darkness has never (and will never) put it out. Know that Christ is your light and shines in the darkness whatever that is to you. Let Christ shine into your heart today.
Let’s give thanks for the reopening of Loaves and Fishes and for the fellowship and fun that goes on there. Lord, give the staff the energy they need for all the cleaning as well as serving and give them the listening ear that you provide for them.
Let’s pray for Scripture Union and their movement as they try to reach the 95% of children who do not know you Lord.
We bring you Lord families all over the world who are unable to meet in person, who have lost a member of their family, or who are struggling to keep on going in this pandemic. Lord you understand the pain, the grief, the lost and loneliness people are feeling. Pray that people may know they are not alone.
We give thanks for all those who are able to help support the unemployed, their neighbours and those with mental health problems. Lord, help us to do our bit no matter how small or insignificant it seems to us.
Today we pray for those who have lost their jobs due to this pandemic. For the unemployed who struggle to pay bills or feed their families and worry about what the future holds. Lord we pray a blessing on them all today.
We bring before you Father children, from all over the world, who are caught in poverty. We pray for a fairer, more just world that where you live is not a marker for poverty. Help us to accept we may have to have less to make this happen.
Lord today we lift our children to you: especially concerning the threat of online pornography and those children who are forced into being part of this.
