Let’s focus our prayers on Gordon Presbytery today. Praying for a vision of mission and ministry way beyond the current restructuring that is in progress. Lord help us to listen to your voice, to remember You are the Heart of the church and you work through people every day not just on Sundays.
Pray today for Venezuela as the country is in conflict over their election in 2018 and who is now the legitimate president. A country in turmoil, economic problems and many leaving the country for a better life elsewhere. Pray for a solution, for the rightful president to emerge and a way forward together in this country.
Pray today for the two major factions in Libya, that there may be peace, a laying down of weapons long term and that there may be eventually a rebuilding of lives in their country.
Remember Lebanon today now that the devastation in Beirut is sinking in, the damage to peoples lives and livelihoods as part of a country in economic crisis, as well as corona virus. Lord in their fear, in their living in a wasteland, we pray for hope, for a light in their darkness. Help them to talk to others, share their fears their grief their anger and not bury it…
Pray for the work of mission hospitals and MSF as they treat and manage people during this corona virus pandemic, often with limited resources. Give thanks for those who serve.
Pray and give thanks for the creation of Bible phone apps which are allowing many people to hear the word of God in their own language for the first time. Pray for the folk translating the word and the sharing of it.
Remembering Mali where there was a coup recently. Pray for peaceful transfer of power, support from African Counties in this transfer and especially for Christians and those known to us in what is a Muslim country.
Let’s pray for all who are in prison for their faith or who have to keep it hidden. Lighten their darkness Lord in your mercy defend them from all dangers in their daily life. Particularly remembering North Korea and the work of the secret workers from Open Doors in that country and in neighbouring China.
Keep company with God and learn the life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something back from us but to give everything of Himself to us. Love like that. Ephesians 5: 1-2 Lord show us and help us to love like that.
What is God saying to you just now: be quiet before Him and listen. You may hear nothing but let’s watch how God is building us, fitting us brick by brick, stone by stone with Jesus Christ as the cornerstone that holds all parts together. Ephesians 2: 19-22
