‘In all my prayers for all of you.
I pray always with joy because of your partnership
in the gospel from the first day until now,
being confident of this,
that he who began a good work in you
will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.’
Philippians 1: 4-6

Partnership Visit 2010

Since establishing our Partnership with our friends in Minyara some years we have encouraged exchange visits to build up our relationship with one another as congregations. Early on in our Partnership it was only possible to bring some young people from Lebanon because of the political situation, and we did this on two occasions.

Last year Ann Brown and Irene Anderson (our World Mission Convener), both Elders and members of our World Church Working Group travelled to Minyara and met with a wide range of young people and adults.

This year with the help of the Church of Scotland, World Mission Council Partnership committee and our own Loaves and Fishes Partnership Fund we are sending four people to Minyara.

From July 19 through to 7 August Ann Brown will be visiting to continue to build up relationships between our congregations meeting with ladies groups and Elders and members in Minyara.

Suzanne Bunton (our Children’s and Youth Coordinator) along with two of our young people, Corinne Bunton and Ian Coull will be taking part in youth and children’s acclivities. Both Corinne and Ian have been young leaders with Kaleidoscope, Summer Missions; have been involved in the Puppet Group and Drama. Corinne is a leader with Simcha dance. They are both musicians also. Along with Suzanne they will sharing a wealth of  experience and ideas with the leaders, young people and children in Minyara and will be helping with their Children’s Summer school, while at the same time bringing back ideas they have learned from Minyara.

The purpose of these visits is to learn from each other, encourage and support one another. Please do remember them as they travel, that the Lord will be with them and Bless them as they serve our congregations and as they continue to build up our Partnership.

PURPOSE OF PARTNERSHIP
The purpose of the Partnership is to seek the best for
each other as members of the Body of Christ by encouraging,
facilitating and supporting one another

Our twinning represents the spiritual journey together. It came about when Kemnay church were looking for making a further link with the world Church. The minister at Kemnay had visited Lebanon and attended the General Assembly of the Middle East Council of Churches and heard an appeal for Churches in the west to support the Christian presence of the Churches in the Middle East. The World Mission Council of the Church of Scotland were able to help us to make contact with Minyara Ccongregation

COVENANT AGREEMENT
This is a Covenant Agreement between the National
Synod of Lebanon and Syria (Presbyterian)
congregation of Minyara and the Church of Scotland
(Presbyterian) congregation of Kemnay
based on the principle of koinonia,
which Paul wrote about in Philippians Chapter 1 verse 6.
By this we mean, that because we have a common
desire to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ we will
work towards a mutual understanding, caring, sharing,
supporting and respecting of each other as in a marriage
covenant.
