He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted. Job 5 v9. Lord there are miracles around us each day open our eyes to see you at work. It’s not the big miracles, not the ones that shout and shine, it’s the small miracles that are sent to show us the loving hand of the divine. Gideon Heugh
Pray for churches as buildings slowly reopen that we may take time to consider what we do and why. Pray for a reawakening of what the church’s mission is about: sharing the Good News of Jesus- however that is done. May we learn from the pandemic, make ongoing use of digital applications, and not be afraid to speak of you Lord.
Give thanks for friends who listen and care for us and help us in different ways. Help us all to remember that it does not cost to listen, and it may help in ways we cannot know.
Pray today for all with Mental Health needs. That they may access the services they need to support them back to wellness and dealing with their particular problem/situation. Father, we do not give full credence to mental health problems. Help us to be aware that unease in the mind is just as much an illness as physical illness.
Pray today particularly for those with needs which often go unnoticed or not fully understood. Thinking particularly of adults with autism.
Today lift up the many help and support services that have been shut down over the pandemic that there may soon be a way for them to reopen. Day care, adult provision, care for younger people with learning and other difficulties. Pray for all who run these services and pray for the families who have had the burden of supporting folk themselves over the last year and more.
Pray today for care homes. For all who live there, for those who care for them in so many different ways. Pray also for relatives and friends who are just beginning to have face to face visits once more. Pray that all may keep safe and continue to follow advice around prevention of infection.
As schools are due to resume after Easter break pray for the teachers, ancillary staff and others who enable education to continue during the pandemic. Pray for a way forward to meet the needs of all children and young people as they try to catch up on education missed during the lockdown periods.
Today remember before God the local council, where you are, and give thanks for all they do. Thanks for the provision they make for education, roads, rubbish collection, housing, and many other areas they work in. Bless them today and help them as they encounter any difficulties in their work.
Give thanks for all who work in fire, ambulance, police, air ambulance, lifeboats and other emergency services. Thank you Lord that people care about us and want to keep us safe. Be near to them as they do their work and quell their fears. May they know your presence beside them.
