“My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ, the solid rock, I stand; all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand.” Edward Mote (1797-1874)
Lord, today we pray for the community life of our town. We thank you for the opportunities our town offers for social gatherings, like those held at the village hall. Lord, we pray that you would work through those gatherings to form new friendships among people in the village, and bring our community closer together. Through Christ, amen.
“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.’” (Luke 2:10-12)

Father God, Thank You for the generosity many show at Christmas time; through hospitality, kind words and gifts. Please bless those who share with others in need: homeless people, those in hospital, care homes and prisons, and others who feel lonely and forgotten. Amen (CARE)
Lord, today we pray for the members of our local government. Lord, we pray that you would remind them each day of their purpose for being in government. Would you empower them to seek the welfare of all people in our communities, in ways that glorify you. Through Christ, amen.
“And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to…
